middle-of-the-pack
- Standings in both pools show each player’s rank – like a golf tournament.
- With over thirty players there are often ties in the standings.
- We count the number of “distinct” rankings to determine who wins the middle of the pack.
- This is done by dividing the number of distinct rankings by two. If the answer is a fraction we round up.
- Example: with 12 distinct rankings the prize goes to the 6th ranking – with 13 it would go to the 7th ranking.
