Mar 17/14 – Game #6 Playoffs

# SKATERS – 16
GAME #1 – WHITE 5 RED 4
GAME #2 – WHITE 4 RED 2
CHOIR PRACTICE 14

The playoffs – a war of attrition. We played with 16 skaters down from 21 last week. Played 5 on 5 which makes for less ice to cover than the 4 on 4 we play when we are under 16. WHITE took the first game 5-4 coming back from down 4-2. RED returned the favour taking the second game 4-2 at the horn.

PLAYOFF SEGMENT: Our leader is LUKE BOWLES (24) who has a 4 point lead. His playoff record on the website is 8-2. He is actually undefeated in the playoffs at a perfect 10-0. There was a data entry glitch in Week #2 of the playoffs when we only had 7 skaters a side. Luke won both games but the Rent-a-Goalie got credit for the wins. The standings will remain as posted though as a result of two things: (1) It would be extra work for me (2) I had to sit beside your equipment. Call it an Equipment Violation. And a repeat offender. Dude you cannot bring gear that smells like that. But still great goaltending, Luke. (Maybe the puck is afraid to get close?)

OVERALL SEGMENT: First Place COLIN MACLELLAN (94 pts) Second Place REAL PHANEUF (91 pts) Third Place PAUL LEBLANC (84 pts) It just might be a race after all. Bonus Ball performance will be critical.

CHOIR PRACTICE: We had 14 players at the bar out of a possible 18. Hardly any lies were told. Hey maybe that’s because DAVE BOONE wasn’t there! (Whoops .. outside voice) Seriously we could have used you buddy. Hope the travel is easy and the flights are on time. And it was a perfect opportunity for a great photo op as PAUL LEBLANC handed over the hardware for Regular Season segment to REAL PHANEUF. I got one picture from Joe but the lighting was off. If anyone else got a good photo send it to me and I’ll post on the website.

Remember last ice time is April 7th – only three ice times left.

Until Monday…
