Feb 10/14 – Game #1 Playoffs

  • # SKATERS – 21
  • GAME #1 – RED  5  WHITE 4
  • STUB ICE – WHITE 1 RED 0
  • CHOIR PRACTICE   16

It’s Playoff hockey! Great start with another 1-game ice time. In a game that featured a few lead changes it was RED who took the only game of the night by a score of 5-4. The horn sounded with WHITE leading the stub ice 1-0. With 21 skaters we kept the pace up. Only made one trade to balance things out. Tip of the helmet to CHRIS SOBY for changing sides and double shifting at centre. It’s still a pretty tight race with only one playoff game in the books. That means everyone is still in the hunt.

We have turned off the email feed. Whatever spambot infected our site at New Years is still lurking, so we decided to simply cut off their access. It means you will have to navigate to the site to see these posts and standings. No more email notification this season. We plan to address this in the off season.

There are now two segments up for grabs – Playoffs and Overall. The race for Overall winner  still belongs to COLIN MACLELLAN with a 7-point lead over REAL PHANEUF who sat out the first playoff game with tender ribs.  Still up for grabs with eight ice times left.

Another good choir practice with 16 players making the trek to Pete’s Peanut Pub. The hardware presentation for Regular Season will have to wait until next week if Real can make it off the Injured reserve list. With another Monday holiday coming up (Family Day) we could be light for the next skate. If you have a friend that wants to get an ice time in – bring them out.

Last ice time is April 7th – to be followed by a season ender bender when the weather finally turns warmer. GERRY LEBLANC has kindly offered his ManCave for the festivities again. I can almost taste the steak now.

Until Monday…
